Iain Young Managing Director and Chief Representative Iain Young is the Managing Director of Oxford Professional Training Limited and the Chief Representative in Beijing. Iain has over nine years education consulting and management experience in the PRC with Metro Education and Wall Street English, introducing to the market corporate and public training programmes in the fields of business, finance, accounting, management, languages and business communication. Previously, he worked for five years in Underwriting for Zurich and Royal & SunAlliance and as a broker for Aon. Iain has a Bachelor (Hons) Degree in Business Economics from Salford University, UK and is a member of the Association of Chartered Institute of Insurers (ACII). Iain also has a high level of fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
Michael Harrigan Group Financial Controller Michael qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 and has over 25 years commercial experience including company flotation, company acquisition and management buy-outs. Michael is currently Financial Director of ATC (International Holdings) Limited. ATC is the most experienced provider of financial training in Central and Eastern Europe. The business was established in the mid 1990s and is currently the first choice service provider for major international accountancy and financial firms operating in the former CIS.
Douglas McGregor Chairman Douglas has a BSc in Mathematics, Statistics and Economics. He started his professional life with BP and that was followed by 18 years in the City of London as Oils & Energy Investment Analyst for Hoare Govett. His final few years with Hoare Govett were spent as a Group Board Director of Hoare Govett Private Clients and Investment Management. Since 1987, Doug has been involved in setting up and developing his own family businesses which, for the past fifteen years, have been based on building trading links and business activity with China.
David Powell Legal Adviser David graduated in law at Cambridge University and Yale Law School and then qualified as a Solicitor with Slaughter and May. David was a part-time Supervisor in Law at both Christ's College, Cambridge and at Selwyn College, Cambridge for three years. Subsequently, over a period of twenty two years, David was Group Legal Director of three major British public companies with considerable international interests, namely British Leyland plc (then comprising Jaguar, Land Rover, and other automobile companies); Midland Bank plc (now owned by HSBC Bank plc) and Guinness plc (since re-named Diageo plc). David has recently acted as Legal Adviser to another British public company (Domino Printing Sciences PLC) and also as a non-executive director of Ross Group plc. He is also a member of the Air Transport Users Council.
David is the legal adviser to Oxford Professional Training.
David Fisher Non-Executive Director David has a degree in History & Politics and a Masters in Marketing Management from Liverpool Business School. Following a career in Strategy Consulting at Deloitte & Touche and KPMG, David moved into Corporate Finance at KPMG. He was a senior manager in the IT sector team transacting M&A deals in UK software sector. David then moved into the venture capital industry joining the specialist technology investor Elderstreet in early 2000. At Elderstreet David invested in a range of software, IT Services and technology companies. He also managed the TriVen Venture Capital Trust fund.
David then joined South East Growth Fund in February 2004. At SEGF David has invested in a number of companies operating in a range of sectors including software, business services and biotechnology and was responsible for the recent investment of SEGF in Oxford Professional Training.
