The Chinese Certified Accounting Technician qualification (or CCAT as it is known) is an accounting qualification awarded jointly by the ACCA and BPP, both of the UK. The CCAT qualification was introduced in October 2004 as the Chinese equivalent of the ACCA's CAT qualification which is studied by tens of thousands of students all over the world.
CCAT is unique in that it is taught and examined 100% in Chinese.
CCAT has ten subjects, of which CCAT1 to CCAT7 are compulsory and CCAT8 to CCAT10 are optional, from which a student can choose any two subjects. CCAT exams take place each June and December in a wide range of cities across China, and you can study for as many or as few exams as you wish.
On passing nine exams of the ten CCAT subjects, the successful student would be awarded a CCAT certificate jointly by the ACCA and BPP. In addition, the ACCA would grant exemptions to all the exams in Part I of the ACCA professional qualification.
Students that then pass Part 2 of the ACCA exams and meet a prescribed minimum English language standard will be entitled to a B.Sc. (Honours) Degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University of the UK, on submission of a satisfactory Research and Analysis Project, as assessed by the University. So students can now study and sit for the exams for a UK degree without having to leave China!
Anyone can enroll for CCAT without any need for a prior qualification.
